On July 7, 2022, a trilateral meeting was held at the Rumi Hotel to discuss the results of the research “Express Assessment of the Situation of Informal Economy Workers in Tajikistan.”
The event was organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) office in Tajikistan. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the results of the research conducted by the company “Tahlil va Mashvarat.”
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan, heads of sectoral trade unions, and the Employers’ Association of Tajikistan.
The First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rahmonzoda Abdulgaffor, emphasized the importance of the research results and noted that based on the presented recommendations, relevant conclusions will be drawn within the framework of the coordination council at the ministry. Additionally, measures will be taken to further improve strategic documents in the area of informal employment.
The project team, consisting of Kahramon Bakozoda, Ilkhom Abdulloev, and Subkhon Burkhoniyon, presented the research findings to the participants. The results consisted of three parts: the methodology of the research, an overview of the implementation of the Program for Reducing the Level of Unregistered (Informal) Employment in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2015–2017, and the data from the research outcomes.
During the discussion of the results, participants made a number of recommendations and suggestions for adding to the final section of the research report. Representatives from the ILO in Tajikistan assured that all suggestions would be taken into account in the final report, which will be submitted to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan in written form.
