"Zerkalo Central Asia" to conduct a baseline study for the "Access to Markets" Project

The Agricultural Projects Implementation Unit (APIU) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry, and Land Reclamation of the Kyrgyz Republic is implementing the “Access to Markets” Project (ATMP), aimed at enhancing the efficiency of agricultural production, developing the processing industry, and strengthening the competitiveness of agri-food products in the livestock sector.

The project’s goal is to improve access for small-scale livestock farmers and agribusinesses (processors, product collectors, wholesale traders) to profitable markets and facilitate their integration into these markets. This is expected to lead to increased incomes for participants in the livestock value chain (VC) and a more equitable distribution of earnings. The project covers the entire country and will be implemented based on demand.

Following a competitive bidding process, Zerkalo Central Asia has been selected to conduct the baseline study for ATMP. Under the contract, the company is responsible for developing the study methodology, taking into account the need for subsequent interim and final evaluations. The assessment will include a desk study, a survey of over 500 households across the country, in-depth interviews with private veterinarians, agribusiness representatives, and potential ATMPpartners, as well as focus group discussions with experts and local communities in the regions.

The timeframe for completing this technical assignment is four months.
